Aztecs After Dark is a rebranding and poster series for of Aztec Nights, the Associated Students run organization of San Diego State University. The rebranding of Aztecs Nights, starts with a new, more exciting name, Aztecs After Dark, to move the brand in an entirely new direction to update the brand to appeal more to its target audience: college students. For the design of the poster and card series, the graphic was created to reach out to the younger generation of students. The poster designs include graphic elements that serve as visual references to the events they are advertising. The poster design was meant to spark interest, draw attention and get people excited about the events. The graphics are built with simple shapes and bright colors to tap into people’s nostalgia of video games and cartoons of the 90’s and 2000’s.
